ALBANY–Evelyn Farbstein has been elected president of the Daughters of Sarah Jewish Foundation for a three-year term. Also elected were Karen Hausler, vice president; Dianne Meckler, treasurer; and William Kahn, secretary. Rosalind Judd is immediate past president.
Others elected to the board of directors were Patricia Salkin, Alan Dorn and Nicole Stein.
Returning directors are Judith Avner, Beverly Eisenstadt, Robert Ganz, Jesse Holland, Mark Israel, Jean Kaback, Karen Lobel, Neil Manasse, Ronald Scharf, Joseph Storch, Marcy Stryker and Gene Tarler.
Farbstein joined the board in 2004 and has served as secretary and most recently as vice president.
She is the president of Devmore Holdings, Inc., a Canadian company involved with real estate development and management. She earned bachelor’s degrees from McGill University and Concordia University in Montreal.
She serves on the board of directors and as vice president of the endowment board of governors for the Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York and on the planning committees for State of Israel Bonds and the Jewish National Fund.
She and her husband, Dr. Larry Farbstein, are congregants of Ohav Shalom and Beth Abraham-Jacob, both in Albany.
