Israeli singer/songwriter Oneg Shemesh performed two acoustic sets for 40 people at the Jewish Educational Resources of New York (JERNY) Israel café July 31. Shemesh performed modern acoustic rock mixed with traditional tunes in both Hebrew and English at JERNY’s Beit Café, according to Rabbi Yaakov Kellman, JERNY executive director. Shemesh also told stories of growing up on Moshav Mevo Modi’im and about his mentor, Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach, said Kellman.
