At the 2016 General Assembly, Rona Pozner was appointed to the Jewish Federation of North America (JFNA) Board of Trustees as a Northeastern New York representative for intermediate-sized federations.
The JFNA Board of Trustees are committed to addressing pressing issues in the Jewish world today and dedicated to cultivating and sustaining a strong global Jewish community according to the Jewish Federation.
Pozner has been active with the Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York. She is a past president—serving a three-year term, and serves on the board of directors, endowment board of governors, campaign cabinet, scholarship, and grants, allocations, and program review committees. Pozner is a former chairwoman of the Federation’s Women’s Philanthropy; a former chairwoman and treasurer of the finance committee; a former chairwoman of CCJE; and formerly served on the P2K partnership, and long-range planning committees.
An endowed Women’s Philanthropy Lion of Judah, Pozner was a recipient of the Lion of Judah’s Kipnis-Wilson Friedland Award, and she received a Jewish Federation of NENY President’s Award in 2012.
In addition to Pozner’s Federation leadership, she has served as secretary, treasurer, and president of Temple Israel in Albany’s sisterhood; treasurer and a member of the executive committee and board of trustees of Bet Shraga Hebrew Academy; and is a life member of Hadassah.
Pozner is married to Louis-Jack Pozner, an attorney of 45 years and past Federation chairman, member of the board of directors, campaign cabinet, and grants, allocations, and program review committees.
