SCHENECTADY–Congregation Agudat Achim has hired a new executive director, to replace Barbara Miller who has retired. Josh Cooper-Ginsburg joined Congregation Agudat Achim’s administrative staff on Dec. 2.
Cooper-Ginsburg is responsible for the overall management of the congregation and implementation of its policies. He earned a master’s degree in psychology from the University of Phoenix and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University at Albany.
According to synagogue administrators, he comes to Agudat Achim with a wealth of experience in relationship management, customer service, and support in a variety of industries including Jewish community events and other non-profit organizations.
Cooper-Ginsburg reports that in his most recent leadership position at the New York State of Health contact center, his ability to brighten the day of those around him and improve upon daily processes of the call center staff were among his top priorities. He said that he hopes to bring the same feelings of togetherness and community to the congregation.
