SCHENECTADY–The 2019/’20 season of the Congregation Gates of Heaven (COGH) Brotherhood Breakfast-And-A-Speaker Program will begin on Sunday, Sept. 8. It will feature Angelicia A. Morris, executive director of the Schenectady County Human Rights Commission, in a program that was rescheduled from March. Her topic will be “Unheard No More: Power Through Action.”
Morris will discuss the New York State Human Rights Law, and the state of human rights here, including civil rights and social justice issues that are prominent in the local community and in the county. She will describe the role of MLK Coalition, and her role as executive director of the Human Rights Commission. She also will suggest ways for attendees to become engaged in activities to bring impactful, positive change to the communities that they live in.
Breakfast begins at 10 a.m. and is free for Gates Brotherhood members, $4 for others. The presentation, beginning at 10:30 a.m., is free. No registration is needed.
