ALBANY–To help the community to prepare for Rosh Hashanah, Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York (JFNENY) will host a live “virtual” cooking class on Wed. Sept. 1, at 8 p.m., entitled “A Very Israeli Rosh Hashanah with Chef Michael Solomonov and Adenna Sussman.”

The free one-hour, interactive class, will help participants learn to cook several Israeli holiday dishes, according to Federation organizers.

Solomonov, a five-time James Beard Foundation award winner, and Sussman, a New York Times best-selling cookbook author, will showcase skillet chicken with date syrup, sumac and tahini, Moroccan carrots, Turkish salad, radish and zucchini salad with mint and nigella seeds, and Halvah Gazoz.

The class is free and open to the community, but registration is required. After registering, participants will be sent the viewing link and password, instructions on how to join the event on Vimeo, and copies of the recipes. Registration for the class may be obtained at
