SCHENECTADY–Congregation Gates of Heaven announces that its Jewish food festival is back and that it will be held on Sunday, April 19, from noon to 3:30 p.m. The festival will be at the temple, 852 Ashmore Ave., Schenectady.
“We are so excited to welcome everyone back to this cherished tradition,” said Peter Kopcha, committee chairman. He added, “The food festival is open to people of all backgrounds. Come hungry, come curious, and come ready to celebrate community!”
Guests will have an opportunity to partake from 12 food stations showcasing many of the rich and diverse flavors of Jewish cuisine. The menu lineup includes brisket, matzah ball soup, sweet noodle kugel, hand-sliced pastrami, smoked salmon, latkes, knishes, hot dogs, chopped liver, herring, and classic egg creams. Ice cream and assorted desserts will be available.
Admission will be for adults, $25, teens, $10 and children under 13 will be admitted at no cost. Tickets may be pre-ordered by contacting the synagogue’s office. Guests are also welcome to pay at the door by cash or check.
