ALBANY–Colonie Chabad Jewish Center invites the community to a Zoom lecture, “What Can the High Holidays Do For Me?” The lecture will be presented by Rabbi Yossi Paltiel on Monday, Aug 16, at 7:00 p.m.
Paltiel is a teacher and lecturer of Jewish thought, philosophy, mysticism and Chasidism. Paltiel has the gift of communicating his passion for Torah and Judaism, according to organizers at the Colonie Chabad Jewish Center. His classes and lectures weave together classic commentaries, history and philosophy, personal stories, ethics, and knowledge of Chasidus and Kabbalah. His websites includes audio and video classes at www.insidechassidus.org and www.theyeshiva.net
The Zoom program will also pay tribute to Rabbi Yoel Kahn. Kahn, a disciple Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, had the ability to memorize (virtually verbatim) Schneerson’s hours-long speeches and discourses. Kahn then compiled them into 50 published volumes. His position as the lead oral scribe made him the default authority on the rebbe’s teachings and one of recognized scholars of general Chabad Chasidic doctrine.
Kahn, 91, died on July 15 in Manhattan.
The meeting ID is 817 9816 5305, phone pass. Code: 549330 Rabbi Mordechai Rubin at ChaiCenterColonie@gmail.com or 518-368-7886 can provide the Zoom passcode.
