SCHENECTADY–On Saturday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m., the Schenectady JCC (SJCC) will host the 9th Annual Robert J. Ludwig Community Service Awards Gala at the Robert and Dorothy Ludwig Schenectady JCC on the Golub Family Campus, 2565 Balltown Rd., Schenectady.
For the past eight years, Center has recognized outstanding individuals, organizations and businesses for service in the community of Niskayuna and the greater Schenectady area with this gala.
The 2019 Robert J. Ludwig Community Service Award honorees are:
Dr. Stephen Berk (Union College) will receive the Community Service Award for his efforts in educating people about the Holocaust and the Jewish community. His work has brought about a greater understanding of the lessons of the Holocaust among people of all faiths and communities, according to Center gala organizers.
Ellis Medicine will receive the Corporate Partnership Award for its more than 125 year commitment to meeting the health needs of this community.
Schenectady Clergy Against Hate will receive the Philanthropic Leadership Award for its work to unite the community and to denounce actions and speech rooted in hate.
