Single and ready to mingle?  The Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York (JFNENY), along with NextDor: The Next Generation of Leadership and community partners, will host a “virtual” speed dating event for members of the Jewish community on Wednesday, Aug. 4, at 7:30 p.m. The speed dating is open to all Jewish adults 21 years or older.

JFNENY and NextDor have partnered with the video speed dating app Filter Off to create this program  that is modeled after real-world, in-person speed dating events. Participants can join the event “virtually” from their phone, tablet or computer via the free link that will be sent out with registration. From there, participants will get to experience five-minute, one-on-one dates with Jewish singles in the area. Filter Off will make matches based on age/gender preference. The goal of Filter Off is to provide a way for individuals with confidence, courage and hectic schedules to meet other singles face-to-face.

This event is held in partnership with B’nai Sholom Reform Congregation, Congregation Agudat Achim, Congregation Beth Emeth, Congregation Gates of Heaven, Congregation Shaaray Tefila, the Hebrew Academy of the Capital District, Jewish Family Services, Robert & Dorothy Ludwig Schenectady JCC, Sidney Albert Albany JCC, Temple Israel and Temple Sinai.

Registration for the event is required. Details may be found at https://www.jewishfedny.org/community-calendar/virtual-jewish-speed-dating. Rebecca Miller at rmiller@jewishfedny.org can provide information.
