SCHENECTADY– Congregation Gates of Heaven has launched a cyber and Internet safety program designed specifically for parents and caregivers. Julia Reyes, the multidisciplinary team coordinator at the Schenectady County Child Advocacy Center will present a comprehensive PowerPoint session on Sunday, March 17, from 10-11 a.m. at Temple Gates of Heaven, 852 Ashmore Ave., Schenectady.
According to Arnie Rotenberg, director of congregational learning, “In an era where digital interactions shape much of our daily lives, ensuring the safety and well-being of our children online has become paramount. Rooted in the Jewish value of caring for oneself and others, it is essential to equip parents and caregivers with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the virtual landscape responsibly. It’s crucial to address the gaps in preparing our youth for ethical and safe online interactions. By promoting discussions on digital citizenship, we empower parents to effectively nurture and guide young individuals in today’s digitized society.
