SCHENECTADY–The Schenectady Jewish Community Center (SJCC) will host its annual arts and crafts fair on Sunday, July 28, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The public is welcome to participate in activities at the SJCC’s campus on Balltown Road, such as a local artists’ exhibit, workshops, raffles, and a book sale, which will feature new and used Jewish and general-themed books.
Vendors at the festival will include ceramic maker Rebecca Cigal, woodworker Rebecca Gazzillo, recycled items artist Alex Graziano, fantasy artist Carol Bosselman, Crafty Kitty Crochet (Melissa Morre), Aunt Da’s Designs, Michelle Woodbeck, Margo Singer, Mishka Luft.
Mohawk River Harmony will provide music from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., playing popular songs and all-time hits. Workshops for adults will include a recycled and nature-inspired art workshop, creating collages and vision boards, and a Jerusalem-themed craft.
Kids will be offered various ways to get artsy including coloring pages, making picture frames, and decorating with stickers. Weather permitting, kids will also have an opportunity to participate in chalk painting outdoors. All workshops will be led by the Center’s professional staff. The fair will also include a photo booth-style opportunity. Summer fare kosher food may be purchased at the event at the SJCC snack bar.
The Art & Crafts Fair is sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York (JFNENY). This program is also supported by the Schenectady County Legislature’s County Initiative Program and the JCC’s Friends of the Arts.
