The Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York (JFNENY) will host a lunch program with the executive editor of Jewish Insider, Melissa Weiss, on Thursday, Aug. 8, at 12 p.m. at JFNENY’s Golub Center, 184 Washington Avenue Ext. Albany. The community is welcome to attend.
During the program, Weiss, an Israeli-American journalist, will talk about her experiences covering the war with Hamas. She will discuss her journey to Israel, covering the war as an Israeli-American, the decisions that reporters have to make on the ground and in the moment, and observations of how the media landscape has changed in Israel over the last 10 months.
Prior to making aliyah, Weiss spent several years overseeing the Israel on Campus Coalition’s National Operations Center and she will also talk about how the war between Israel and Hamas is playing out on college campuses.
