
Glens Falls City Councilman-elect, Dan Rice and his team, pictured will return to defend his “Golden Latke Award at the annual Temple Beth El Latke Fest on Sunday, Dec. 14.
GLENS FALLS – Temple Beth El’s annual Latke Fest will be held on Sunday, Dec. 14, from 2 – 4:30 p.m. at the temple, 3 Marion Ave., Glens Falls. Now in its 14th year, the Latke Fest fund-raiser continues to be a Glens Falls community celebration with music, contests and latkes. The festival is open to the entire area. The festival is a latke cooking competition featuring teams of cooks of all ages, faiths, and cooking experiences and the judges are those from the community who attend to eat.
The teams vie for the coveted title of “Golden Latke” and prizes and bragging rights for the year. Awards are also given for the best condiment. Cooks are encouraged to get creative with tasty toppings. Cooking teams this year include the Glens Falls Community Theatre, Greater Glens Falls Hebrew School, Adirondack Theatre Festival, and Glens Falls Mayor-Elect, Diana Palmer and Glens Falls City Councilman-elect
Dan Rice.
Tickets are available at the door, and tables may be reserved by calling the Temple office. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for kids, ages 5-11, and $180 for a reserved table (includes 10 tickets plus other goodies). All proceeds
are used to support Temple Beth El and the Glens Falls Jewish community.
