SCHENECTADY–The Schenectady Jewish Community Center is hosting a used clothing sale on Sunday, Aug. 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Schenectady JCC’s Golub auditorium at 2565 Balltown Rd. Proceeds from this event will be used to build a new pavilion near the playground in time for summer 2025 as part of a challenge grant the Schenectady JCC has received from Harold Grinspoon JCAMP 180. The grant will provide the Center with $25,000 in funding for this project if it raises $50,000.

Sale event attendees will be able to shop for gently used and new clothing and shoes, in both children’s and adult sizes, bags, purses, luggage, and bedding.

Early bird admission to the clothing sale starts at 8:30 a.m., and there is a $5 entry fee. The bag sale will run from 12 to 1 p.m. Bags are $8 each or two for $15.

Clothes drop-off days will be Thursday, Aug. 15, from 3 to 7 p.m. and Friday, Aug. 16, from 9 to 11 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. Organizers have requested no undergarments. All donations are tax deductible.

Organizers have noted that volunteers are needed to help with the drop-off days, event set up, and during the used clothing sale. Details may be found at www.tinyurl.com/jccsale.
