Solidarity Rally Against Global Antisemitism on 11/11/2024

Thank you to all who joined our Solidarity Rally Against Global Antisemitism in response to the horrific attacks against Jews in Amsterdam on November 7th. We would like to thank the Albany JCC and Jewish Federation of NENY for partnering with us to make the rally happen. Thank you to David Posner- CEO of Capital Region JCC’s for coordinating and speaking at the event. Thank you to the other speakers, Louis Jack Pozner- Jewish Federation NENY, Alison McLean Lane- Albany County Legislature, and Evelyn Loeb- Amidah member and Holocaust educator. The rally was very well attended, with over 150 attendees including several elected officials and community leaders. We also received very positive press coverage from WTEN, WAMC, and WNYT.

School Board Committee

Our newly formed School Board Committee has been hard at work planning to attend local school board meetings to educate about antisemitism in our K-12 schools. We will attend local school board meetings in as many districts as possible to discuss and give examples of how antisemitism is penetrating into our school systems and K-12 curriculum.  If you would like to join this committee, please email us to let us know. Please see this document for school board meeting times. In order to sign up to speak at a meeting, you should be a resident of that school district but other members can attend for support regardless of district. Two to three Amidah members should sign up to speak consecutively, and we will provide a script for speakers.
