Removing Anti-Semitism From Our Platforms: Making A Difference In Social Media

It’s unfortunate to say I’ve witnessed all too often a great number of people spouting off all kinds of hate targeting Jewish people. There’re so many uninformed misguided individuals out there accusing Israel not only for being responsible for the war, they’re also ascribing all kinds of ridiculous claims to countless world problems. I prefer not to repeat any of them for obvious reasons. The sheer ridiculousness of such nonsensical claims definitely don’t need further promotion. As I’m sure many of you already know, and also by the tone of this article, dealing with this scapegoating mentality can become quite maddening.

Though recently I have experienced a breath of fresh air. While in one of my favorite spaces called ‘The Conversation’ hosted by Adrian Dittmann, I witnessed something fantastic. After much aggravation, he dropped a person posting hate from his room. This isn’t censorship. It’s more like telling someone to leave your home because they’re being belligerent and unreasonable.

Maybe there’s no need for putting regulation on what can be said, we just need to not listen. More people should follow Mr. Dittmann’s action. If you don’t interact with it, eventually it will go away. If it doesn’t, there are people in agencies who will handle these types of things. Just last night, or should I say early this morning, I was in one of his spaces where he brought up a former TLO (Terrorism Liaison Officer) who now works as a Certified Threat Manager for Elon Musk at X.

We the people can start making things change by simply caring to take the time to do so. By taking these matters into our own hands in responsible ways, we will help pave the way to a future where anti-Semitism is a thing of the past. Our efforts will add up. You have the freedom to speak and act against hate, all you need to do is use it.
