PAUL ZONDERMAN

SCHENECTADY – To note Veterans Day, the Schenectady Center (SJCC) is partnering with the Capital District Posts of the Jewish War Veterans to host a breakfast and talk with Paul Zonderman, author and veteran. He will speak about his book, Justice in the Jungle, on Sunday, Nov.13, from 10 to 11:30 a.m.  at the Center, 2565 Balltown Rd., Schenectady. The program is free for veterans.

Zonderman, currently of Niskayuna, enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1961 and was part of the Platoon Leaders Class Law Program. He studied law at Cornell Law School and went into active service in 1965. Zonderman also worked as an attorney and as a labor counsel at General Electric and later as Niskayuna Town judge.

The book focus is of Zonderman’s experiences in 1967, in the northernmost portion of South Vietnam, where the third Marine Division would earn the Presidential Union Citation.

Zonderman reports that he initially wrote Justice in the Jungle for his family to have as a record of his years in the military. However, according to Zonderman, in the ensuing months since publication, interest has grown outside of his family and many people have asked for copies of the book.

Non-veterans may pay $10 to attend. Zonderman’s book may be purchased online and brought to the event to be signed. The book will also be on sale for $10 at the Center on the day of the event. Information and pre-registration may be obtained by e-mail to Judy Ben-Ami at [email protected] or by calling the Center at 518-377-8803.
