Saratoga Jewish Community Arts will present its annual Matthew M. Neugroschel Jewish Storytelling Program, on Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. at Temple Sinai, 509 Broadway, Saratoga Springs and on Zoom. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for a dessert reception.
Annually for 12 years, Saratoga Jewish Community Arts has brought together a group of storytellers. This year’s storytellers include some long-time favorites, including Sylvia Bloom, Beth Sabo Novik, Sandy Schuman, Rabbi Ilana Symons, and Martina Zobel, as well as some new voices.
SJCA’s storytelling program was renamed in 2021 in memory of Matthew M. Neugroschel, a frequent contributor to Saratoga Jewish Community Arts and the Saratoga Jewish Cultural Festival, and a storyteller, whose life was cut short in 2020 at the age of 49.
The SJCA has published Matthew’s story in a hard-covered edition called, The Golem of Davidson Avenue. And will sell the book at the Feb. 10 program.
