JOEL CHASNOFF

The joint societies of the Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York (JFNENY) will host a night of stories, reflections, and conversation about the Jewish community’s connection with Israel, featuring comedian and Israel 201 author Joel Chasnoff, on Thursday, Feb. 29, at 7:30 p.m. at Agudat Achim Synagogue, 2117 Union St., Schenectady. The program will include a wine and dessert reception.

Chasnoff is a Chicago native and former Lone Soldier in the Israel Defense Forces. As a stand-up comedian, he has performed his brand of clean, Israel-positive comedy for more than 1,000 Jewish communities in 10 countries.

Chasnoff is also the author of four books, including the comedic memoir of The 188th Crybaby Brigade, about his experience as a lone soldier. A recent National Jewish Book Award winner, Chasnoff’s latest book, Israel 201, introduces readers to the Israel behind the headlines to show readers what it’s really like to live in Israel.

Chasnoff will sign and sell his books. Interested individuals may purchase a ticket for $18 at https://www.jewishfedny.org/community-calendar/chasnoff-dessert. Linda Pollack Kessler at 518-783-7800 or [email protected] has details.

This event is sponsored by the Brandeis Baruch, Chaim Weizmann and Maimonides affinity societies associated with JFNENY.
