The Shalom Food Pantry’s seventh annual “Battle of the BBQs” competition is set for Sunday, June 30, at the Albany JCC, 340 Whitehall Rd. The event will run from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., aiming to raise funds for the pantry that provides over 2,300 meals worth of groceries each month to individuals and families in need across the Capital Region.
Teams representing local Jewish organizations will compete in a barbecue showdown, offering attendees samples of their best chicken wings, steaks, and portobello mushrooms. Unlimited sides and vegetarian options will complement the main dishes.
Entertainment will include includes live music, a rock climbing wall, face painting, beer tasting for the adults and pony riding for the children.
Participants and visitors can also participate in voting for the People’s Choice Award, adding an interactive element to the culinary competition.
