SCHENECTADY–Student to Student, a peer-led program in the Capital District, is an effort to connect Jewish teens with local schools and nonprofits to try to stop anti-Semitism before it begins.

Created in 1993 in St. Louis, the program brings together high school students from diverse branches of Judaism—Conservative, Reform, and Orthodox—to share their experiences and common bonds.

Each presentation dives into five topics: Jewish lifecycle events, Shabbat, the Holocaust and anti-Semitism, Israel, and kosher dietary laws, showcasing both the diversity and the unity within Judaism.

Students openly answer questions from their peers, hoping to break down barriers. Before each visit, coordinators work closely with teachers to align the presentation with class topics.
