The Hebrew Academy of the Capital District (HACD) 60th anniversary celebration is slated for Sunday, June 4, at the Beth Abraham-Jacob Synagogue, 380 Whitehall Rd., Albany, The brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. will be a community-wide celebration, noting the school’s history and accomplishments over the past 60 years. Outgoing Head of School Julie Pollack will be feted, entertainment and a ceremony noting the contributions of the school’s past presidents have been announced.

Pollack, has been head of school for eight years. Previously she had taught for 45 years.

“We are thrilled to be celebrating our 60th anniversary and to share this milestone with the community,” said Amarit Rosin current president at the school. He added, “We are grateful for the tireless work of our past presidents and Head of School, Julie Pollack, whose dedication has been instrumental.”

According to HACD administrators, since its founding in 1962, HACD has provided thousands of Jewish students a high-quality education grounded in Jewish values and traditions.

Guests will have an opportunity to socialize with alumni, current students and staff, and to participate in interactive exhibits that showcase the school’s achievements.

School administrators have announced “60 For 60” campaign to support the school.
