SCHENECTADY–The Schenectady JCC (SJCC) will host its 13th annual Robert J. Ludwig Community Service Awards Gala on Sunday, Oct. 20. The program at Schenectady’s Museum of Innovation and Science (miSci) begins at 6 p.m. It will honor community members and organizations for their contributions to the Capital Region, Schenectady County and Center communities.

This year’s honorees will be:

Karen and Gerald Hausler will receive the Community Service Award to recognize their commitment to bettering both the JCC and the community. SJCC organizers said, “Through their dedication to the JCC and steadfast commitment to helping others throughout Schenectady and the world. The Hauslers define the Jewish ideal of Tikkun Olam, repairing the world.”

Mohawk Honda has been selected to receive the Corporate Partnership Award for its commitment to being a good corporate citizen through its support of various initiatives and organizations that improve Capital Region communities, not just in sponsorship dollars but in volunteer hours, supporting charities at their events when possible.

Jewish Family Services of Northeastern New York has been selected to receive the Philanthropic Leadership Award for providing a continuum of support, services and resources for Capital Region individuals and families of all ages and backgrounds, while also having the unique ability and responsibility to meet the needs of the Jewish community.
