Our givers reach in pockets for $375,000

Rob Kovach, president of Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York, said on Friday, Oct. 13, that since the rally for Israel at Cong. Beth Emeth on Oct. 9, attendees and others have given about $375,000 to support Israel in the current crisis.

Jewish Federations of North America has announced a goal of raising $500 million, and they have asked our communities for $2.1 million.

2.1M would be 0.4% of 500M, which is in proportion to our Jewish population. There are about 6M Jews in the U.S.; 0.4% would be 24,000, which is approximately the Jewish population of our metropolitan area.
