Members of the Jewish War Veterans (JWV) conducted a memorial service at the Sydney Albert Jewish Community Center in Albany on  May 19 to honor their past comrades. Following the service, the group placed flags at the headstones of Jewish veterans at local Albany cemeteries. Each year, JWV coordinates for the placement of more than 1,000 memorial flags at area Jewish cemeteries. Both JWV posts in Schenectady and Saratoga placed their flags over Memorial Day weekend.
