SCHENECTADY– Returning for its third year, the Schenectady JCC’s annual Outdoor Art Festival and Exhibit will be held on Sunday, July 9, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Center, 2565 Balltown Rd., Schenectady. The public is invited to participate in viewing a local artists’ exhibit, workshops and a book sale featuring new and used Jewish and general-themed books.

Participating artists will include Shari Sarachan and Dobert Canvas who will exhibit their paintings; jewelry maker Alessandra Payne of Salvage & Shine; pottery maker Rebecca Cigal and wood sign maker Heather Babcock. 

In addition, the festival will feature a variety of workshops to take part in, including a natural art workshop, recycled art workshop, ceramics class demo, and Jewish-themed crafts. Several activities geared towards children, such as coloring pages, sticker decorating and making frames, will also be offered. The festival will also include a Shalom Israel Exhibit, live music, a book sale, a book reading by a local author, a photo booth and raffles. Summer inspired kosher foods may be purchased at the event.  

The event is sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York, the Schenectady County Initiative Program (CIP), the New York State of Opportunity Council on the Arts and the Arts Center of the Capital Region.
